EDI for Loan Submission
The MITAS Internet Loan Reservations System allows you to electronically import loan data.  You can import data using the Fannie Mae® MORNETPlus® EDI specification.  Currently versions 2.0 and 3.0 are supported.  The Fannie Mae® Desktop Underwriter® product supports this format as well as many major origination software packages.  Individual files are created for each loan that can be uploaded to the MITAS System during the loan application process.

To utilize this Electronic Data Interface (EDI), from the Loan Detail screen choose the Electronic Import menu option.  The Electronic Import screen is available to facilitate the transfer of the EDI file.  If you know the location of the file created for loan submission, input the path and file name of the file created to import at the "Enter path and file name to upload:" prompt.  Click the Browse button to open an explorer window allowing your to select the file that was created out of your origination software package in the MORNETPlus® format.  After selecting the file name, click the Upload! button to submit the file to the MITAS System.  A sample screen is shown below.

Create the data file as if you were going to import the data into Desktop Underwriter®.  Enter the path and file name of the file created below, and click the "Upload!" button (Example: C:\uploads\loan0001.fnm).  The file will be copied to our server, of which you will receive confirmation.  Then click the "Process Now" button to load the information and you will be returned to the Compliance input screen.  You still need to verify the data on each screen as some fields may not be contained in the Desktop Underwriter® data file.  Finish by hitting the submit button on the appropriate screen to receive your loan number.

 Successful Upload
If the file was successfully loaded to the web server, the screen shown below will be displayed.  If the file was not successfully loaded to the web server, an error message will be displayed instead.

If upload was successful, you must click "Process Now" or your loan will not be processed.
For successful uploads, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Process Now! button to notify the server to import the file into the MITAS Internet Loan Reservations System.  Upon completion of the data import, the Loan Detail screen is displayed.
  2. Choose the Loan Application menu option (on the Loan Detail screen) to access the Loan Application data entry screens.   Not all fields will be populated because some of the data elements do not exist in the EDI file.  You must still access each data entry screen verifying that all data elements are correct and filled in.
  3. Once you have verified data on all data entry screens, press the Submit button to submit the application to the MITAS System.
